The Global Business Committee has an advisory role to the Executive Committee, assessing business strategy, key business aspects and priorities as well as debating industry trends and issues.
Piergiorgio Pradelli was appointed CEO of EFG International and EFG Bank, effective as of 01 January 2018. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of EFG International’s subsidiaries EFG Bank (Monaco), EFG Investment and Wealth Solutions Holding AG and Patrimony 1873 SA.
Prior to his appointment as CEO, Mr. Pradelli held the role of Deputy CEO and CFO at EFG since January 2014 and June 2012, respectively. Before joining EFG International, Mr. Pradelli was Head of International Operations at Eurobank Ergasias SA and member of the Executive Committee, from 2006 until 2012. Prior to this, he served as Deputy Finance Director in London for EFG Bank European Financial Group SA, from 2003 to 2006, participating in major EFG Bank European Financial Group SA restructuring and strategic initiatives, notably the initial public offering of EFG International in 2005.
Mr. Pradelli started his career at Deutsche Bank, working in a number of senior management positions including Head of Private & Business Banking in Italy, and Head of Business Development for the Private Clients and Asset Management Group in Frankfurt and London from 1991 until 2003.
Mr. Pradelli is an Italian citizen, was born in 1967, and has a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Turin, Italy.
Yves Aeschlimann was appointed Group Head of Legal & Compliance of EFG International and EFG Bank and member of the Executive Committee, effective 01 March 2019. In his role, he oversees the combined Legal and Compliance division and is responsible for further enhancing EFG’s regulatory compliance framework.
Prior to joining EFG, Mr Aeschlimann served as Group Head of Legal and Compliance and a member of the Executive Committee at Edmond de Rothschild (Suisse) SA since 2013. Prior to that, he worked as a Senior Financial Sector Specialist in Financial Market Integrity for the World Bank in Washington DC and spent eight years at the Geneva Criminal Justice Department as Investigating Magistrate from 2001 to 2009. Mr Aeschlimann is a registered barrister and started his career as a practising attorney in Geneva.
Mr Aeschlimann is a Swiss citizen and was born in 1967. He holds a Master of Law from the University of Geneva, where he also worked as a research assistant for three years. Since 2016, he is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Case Law University in Cleveland, Ohio.
Albert Chiu is the Head of Asia Pacific Region of EFG International and EFG Bank since June 2016. He is also a member of EFG International’s Global Business Committee and since June 2018 the Executive Chairman of EFG Bank’s Asia Pacific Region. Mr. Chiu joined EFG Bank in 2000 and established EFG Bank’s Private Banking activities in Asia (with branches in Hong Kong and Singapore).
Prior to joining EFG, Mr. Chiu was Treasury Manager at HSBC Bank USA Hong Kong Branch (1993–2000) and from 1987 until 1993 he worked for Citibank Hong Kong (Vice President).
Mr. Chiu is a Hong Kong citizen, born in 1965, and holds a Bachelor in Business Administration (Hon.) of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and completed the Advanced Management Program of Harvard Business School. He completed a Diploma course in the Sophia University in Japan.
Sir Anthony Cooke-Yarborough was appointed Private Banking Chairman of EFG International effective 02 January 2019. In this new global role, he is a member of EFG International’s Global Business Committee, reporting directly to the CEO, and is Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of EFG Private Bank Ltd, London.
He was Head of EFG International’s UK Region from June 2016 to 01 January 2019, and was CEO of EFG Private Bank Ltd, London, EFG International’s wholly owned subsidiary in the United Kingdom from June 2011 to 01 January 2019. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of EFG International’s subsidiaries EFG Private Bank (Channel Islands) Ltd, Guernsey, and EFG Asset Management (UK) Ltd, London.
Sir Anthony joined EFG Private Bank Ltd in 2009 and served as Head of Private Banking until his appointment as CEO in June 2011. From 2005 until 2009 he served as Chief Executive of Mourant Private Wealth, Jersey. Prior to that he was Head of UK Private Banking and CEO of Barclays Private Bank Ltd (2002–2005) and from 1997 to 2002 served as Executive Director at Merrill Lynch International Bank, London, ultimately as Deputy Head of UK Private Client business. He started his career at Lloyds Bank International in 1980 and held various senior management positions in the USA and Latin America, ultimately as Director, International Investments, Brazil.
Sir Anthony is a British citizen, was born in 1956, and holds a degree in economics from Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge University.
Martin Freiermuth is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of EFG International and EFG Bank and a member of the respective Executive Committees, effective as of 17 August 2020. In this role as COO and reporting directly to CEO Giorgio Pradelli, Martin Freiermuth oversees the entire Operations and IT functions and is responsible for further improving EFG’s operational efficiency as well as driving the bank’s digitalisation efforts.
Prior to joining EFG, Martin Freiermuth was with Banque Internationale à Luxembourg, where he worked since 2014, first as Group Head Products & Solutions and since October 2018 as Group Head Products & Markets and member of the Executive Committee. He also served as member of the Boards of Directors for IWI – International Wealth Insurer – in Luxembourg between 2015 and 2016 and for the Luxemburg Stock Exchange between 2019 and 2020. Before this, Martin Freiermuth worked at Bank Vontobel AG in Zurich for more than ten years from 2002 to 2013. He joined Vontobel as Head Credit & Counterparty Risk and later became a member of the Executive Committee Private Banking, first as Head Private Banking Services and later Head PB Wealth Management Services.
Martin Freiermuth is a Swiss citizen and was born in 1970. He holds a PhD in economics from the University of St. Gallen as well as a European Master Diploma of the Community of European Management Schools (CEMS).
Kurt Haueter is the Head of Global Markets & Treasury and member of the Global Business Committee since 01 January 2020. In addition, he is a member of the Executive Committee of EFG Bank AG, EFG International’s wholly owned subsidiary in Switzerland.
Kurt Haueter has been with EFG since 2009 and has an in-depth knowledge of the bank and its businesses, as well as extensive industry expertise. He has held the role of Global Head of Treasury & ALM since November 2016. From 2011 to 2016, he was Head of Financial Markets and prior to that served as Head of Treasury at EFG Financial Products (Leonteq) and EFG Bank. Before joining EFG, he worked as Senior Treasury Officer at Swiss Re in Zurich and London from 2002 to 2009.
Kurt Haueter is a Swiss citizen and was born in 1972. He holds an Executive Master in Corporate Finance from the Institute for Financial Services of the University of Applied Sciences of Central Switzerland, and a BSc in Business Administration from the Zurich University of Applied Sciences.
Sanjin Mohorovic is Head of EFG’s Latin America Region and a member of EFG International’s Global Business Committee since 01 July 2021.
Before that he has held the position as Global Private Banking Chief Operating Officer at EFG in Zurich and was Private Banking Chief Operating Officer of EFG’s Latin America Region based in Miami from 2017 to 2019. He previously held various senior positions at BSI, including serving as Managing Director of BSI Bank in the Bahamas from 2013 to 2017.
Sanjin Mohorovic is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and holds an M.A. in Social and Economic Sciences from the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. He was born in 1976 and is a Swiss and Croatian citizen.
Enrico Piotto is Chief Risk Officer and a member of the Executive Committee of EFG International since 01 June 2021.
Before joining EFG, he has served as Head of Lending for Wealth Management Europe at Deutsche Bank since 2018. From 2003 to 2018, Enrico Piotto held various senior roles at UBS AG, including Chief Risk Officer for Wealth Management Europe, Emerging Markets and Global Head of Wealth Management Transaction Decisions.
Enrico Piotto was born in 1972 and is a Swiss and Italian citizen. He holds a PhD in Nuclear Physics from the University of Milan and an M.A. in Physics from the University of Padua.
Dimitris Politis is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of EFG International and a member of the Executive Committee. In his role as CFO, his responsibilities encompass, apart from the Finance and Planning functions, the Global Treasury as well as the Investor Relations functions.
Previous to his position as CFO of EFG, Dimitris Politis held the role of Chief Financial Officer at SETE S.A. (Geneva) and was also responsible for the oversight of strategic investments in the organisation’s corporate entities, including EFG International. Mr. Politis has been with the EFG Group since 1999, when he first joined EFG Eurobank Ergasias S.A., where he was a member of the senior management team and involved in key strategic decisions and initiatives. Before joining SETE S.A. in 2013, he last held the role of General Manager, Head of Strategy and Investor Relations. Prior to joining the EFG Group, Mr. Politis started his career in 1995 at the Charles River Associates management consulting firm.
Mr. Politis is a Greek citizen and was born in 1971. He holds a MBA degree from INSEAD in France, as well as a Master’s degree in Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston (Technology & Policy programme) and a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Imperial College in London.
Franco Polloni is the Head of EFG’s Switzerland & Italy Region. He is also a member of EFG International’s Global Business Committee and a member of the Executive Committee of EFG Bank. Mr. Polloni joined EFG in May 2017 as Head of Central Switzerland, Ticino & Italy Region.
Before joining EFG, Mr. Polloni was Head of Private Clients & Asset Management and Member of the Executive Board of Banca del Ceresio in Lugano, a role he took in December 2014. Between 2008 and 2014, he held various leadership positions at BSI and was Head of Private Banking Switzerland and member of the Group Executive Board from 2008 to 2010. From 2001 to 2008, he worked at Banca del Gottardo, where he was appointed as Member of the Executive Board in 2006 and served as Head Products & Services until the bank’s integration into BSI in 2008. From 1997 to 2001 he has worked for Coopers & Lybrand (later PricewaterhouseCoopers) as manager in tax department advising international corporations and individuals. He began his career in 1993 with Ernst & Young in Zurich.
He holds a degree in business and economics from the University of Zurich and a diploma as a Swiss federal tax expert, a Trust & Estate Practitioner (TEP) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP). Franco Polloni is a Swiss citizen and was born in 1965.
Harald Reczek is Head of Investment Solutions and a member of the Executive Committee since 01 May 2021. He joined EFG in 2020 as Deputy Head of Investment Solutions and Global Head of Distribution.
Previously, he served as Head of Distribution EMEA and later as Deputy Head Asset Management for Switzerland and the EMEA region at Credit Suisse. Prior to that, he was Co-CEO at Deutsche Asset Management Switzerland from 2013 to 2015 and before served as CEO and Country Head Switzerland, Italy, Austria & CEE at DWS Schweiz since 2006.
Harald Reczek is an Austrian citizen and was born in 1969. He holds a Master of Business Administration in International Economics and Business Studies from the Leopold-Franzens University of Innsbruck.
Patrick Ramsey is the Head of Continental Europe & Middle East Region, effective as of 01 January 2021. In this role, and reporting directly to CEO Giorgio Pradelli, Patrick Ramsey is responsible for further enhancing EFG’s private banking business in Continental Europe as well as in the Middle East and the Eastern Mediterranean target markets.
He is also a member of EFG International’s Global Business Committee as of the same date.
Patrick Ramsey is a seasoned wealth management and private banking professional with more than 25 years of experience in the industry. Before joining EFG International, he served as Head of Wealth Management and member of the Executive Committee at CA Indosuez (Switzerland), where he worked since 2013 until early 2020. From 2010 to 2013, Patrick was the General Manager of Barclays (Suisse) SA and Country Manager Switzerland for Barclays Group.
Prior to that, Patrick was the General Manager and CEO of Merrill Lynch Bank (Suisse) SA, where he worked from 2002 to 2010, holding a variety of senior management positions.
Patrick Ramsey is a Swiss citizen and was born in 1969. He holds a major in Finance and Marketing from the University of Lausanne, HEC School.
Richard Thomas is the Head of EFG International’s UK Region and member of the Global Business Committee since 02 January 2019. In addition, he is CEO of EFG Private Bank Ltd, London, EFG International’s wholly owned subsidiary in the United Kingdom.
Prior to joining EFG, Richard Thomas worked at Barclays UK, where he last held the role of Chief Operating Officer, Savings, Wealth and Investments. He joined Barclays in 2008 and served as as Chief Operating Officer UK Private Bank from 2015 to 2017 and Business Head London Region and Specialist Proposition UK from 2012 to 2015. Before that, he was a Managing Director and Team Leader UK. Prior to his career at Barclays, he held senior posts in the UK’s Ministry of Defence and held the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.
Richard Thomas is a British citizen and was born in 1967. He holds a Sloan Fellowship MSc in Business Strategy and Leadership from London Business School as well as a MA in Defence Studies from King’s College London. He was awarded the MBE by Her Majesty the Queen in 2000 for his service abroad.
