Job description

The position of Head of Mortgage Finance is part of the Credit Risk team of EFG Bank AG and is responsible for all activities related to the approval and monitoring of mortgage related transactions, overseeing such global portfolio, identifying and mitigating its risks, in cooperation with the Group Head of Credit and Deputy. 

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Prepare & review credit memos to be approved by the competent authority holders (credit and risk committees), assessing all the risk angles of the proposal (client, structure, collateral, jurisdictions, tax, compliance, etc.)
  • Structure complex mortgage deals and supervise the preparation of term sheets; 
  • Ensure the facilities proposed for approval (or approved under the delegated competence) are aligned with the Risk appetite of EFG;
  • Ensure the approved facilities are properly reflected in the core banking system, in liaison with the Credit Administration teams (for different EFG booking centers) 
  • Revise credit documentation in liaison with the Credit Administration area when required. 
  • Liaise with Group Head of Credit & Deputy, and the Chief Risk Officer on specific projects

Skills and experience

  • At least 10 years of experience as credit risk officer and in particular in the mortgage business, with in depth knowledge of our target markets: Switzerland, UK and France
  • Strong knowledge of accounting statements, credit analysis and legal environment of those locations
  • Precision and capability to handle internal requests within the given deadlines
  • Language skills: fluent English; French and German are desirable
