Application Developer

General Description

Our team supports our Core Banking system (Globus/T24) infrastructure in all our booking centres. The role is mostly focussed on ensuring that the End of Day processes are running appropriately, on optimizing those processes in collaboration with the Unix team, on providing solutions regarding the transport of different types of messages (in particular Swift or E-Banking messages) and on developing tools related to the Globus/T24 Front End.

Main responsibilities

• Undertake ad hoc analysis of specific requirements and accurately and comprehensively document the findings and design of the proposed solution;
• Implement and document new system enhancements ;
• Liaise with other IT teams (in particular IT Operations, Unix and Windows); 
• Define and test required solutions to enhance the existing features and functionalities; 
• Progress in a timely manner with defining changes and the delivery of required changes to the systems; 
• Escalate issues in a timely manner with all required stakeholders; 
• Progress work according to agreed priorities (and ensure that priorities are understood if there are any ambiguities).

Skills and experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software development;
• Capacity and willingness to learn;
• General understanding of Unix/Windows OS (in particular Unix sockets);
• Knowledge of the following languages/architectures
  - c/c+
  - java 
  - Unix shells
  - Windows powershell
  - Jbasic
• Knowledge of T24/Globus
  - Implementation/architecture
  - Management
  - General User navigation
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills;
• Lots of attention to details and goal-oriented; 
• Ability to work with limited supervisions and to take  initiatives;
• Collaborative and team work spirit;
• Great ability to adapt;
• French/English (oral and written).
